On October 30th & 31st, IE Business School welcomed some of the most prominent companies in the Consulting industry to the Consulting Talent Forum, event held by IE Talent & Careers at Aula Magna. EY, Monitor Deloitte, Minsait by Indra, Alfa Consulting, Grant Thornton, PWC, Simon Kucher & Partners, Accenture, Altair, Gartner, Everis, Altran, Globalpraxis, Ayming, Roland Berger, among others, were some of the companies that participated in the event.
The company snapshots gave the students from the Master in Management, Masters in Finance and International MBA programs an opportunity to learn more about their corporate culture and identify the core company values. The representatives from these companies spoke about their personal experience in the business and showcased the opportunities they currently offer.
The speakers also addressed some questions from the students. Some of the frequently asked questions were, “What is the best time to apply?” and “What are the skills Consultancy firms value in a candidate?”. They all agreed that it is vital to apply at the right time when the students are ready for the recruitment process. According to the speakers, some of the essential skills valued by Consultancy firms are excellence, empathy, and entrepreneurship. When applying to Consultancy firms, it is very beneficial if the candidate has excellent academic records and has been involved in many extracurricular activities, during school years.
Following the company presentations, the companies participated in the networking hub. It was a more relaxed atmosphere that gave students the opportunity to meet the company representatives face to face and get their questions answered. The networking event allowed the companies to have a better understanding of the students’ needs and vice versa. The event was very valuable and insightful particularly for students who are looking for a career in the Consulting field.
