Tommaso Fraccaroli, IE International MBA graduate, started last April at Hilti HQ Liechtenstein. As a TTM Project Manager, he is responsible for the correct execution of projects, from new product inception until market commercialization, dealing on a constant basis with development and testing, quality, marketing, supply, production, logistics and finance. Heads up if you want to work at Hilti! Tommaso’s input will be of help:
How did you find out about this job opportunity?
I found this job post on the Hilti career website and I applied directly there as well as, a few days later, on the IE Career Portal when the same job opportunity was announced.
How did Talent and Careers and your IE experience help you during the recruiting process?
The department helped me in fine-tuning my CV along with the cover letter, not only during the several Career Fitness lessons but also during the drop-in sessions. In addition to this, they also assisted me during the intermediate steps of the recruiting process.
How was the recruiting process at Hilti?
The recruting process was quite intensive consisting in several interviews via Skype and two rounds directly in the HQ in Schaan. The first interview was with HR while the other interviews were mainly with Heads of different departments and the last one with the Head of the Business Unit. The interviews were a mix between motivational and case-based questions. The complete recruiting process, in my case, lasted for 2 months until receiving the final offer. After every interview, you receive feedback from HR.
What tips or advice would you share with current student interested in applying to HILTI?
Being really prepared about the Hilti business model and having a deep understanding of the company values, strategy and relevant products is a must. Attending the company presentation at IE was very important and helpful. Be yourself, show your passions, enthusiasm and commitment.
As a general consideration, apply as soon as possible and make an extensive use of all the instruments in your hands like the drop-in sessions and Alumni network.
