How did you find out about this job opportunity?
I discovered the job opportunity at Roland Berger via IE. A HR representative contacted me after checking the IE CV Book.
How did the CMC and your IE experience help you during the recruiting process?
The CMC helped a lot in the beginning of my application process by reviewing my CV extensively. Checking it with different career advisors of the CMC had the advantage of adding different perspectives and finally I was able to highlight my key abilities for a career in consulting.
Additionally, the MIM program was really helpful for the Roland Berger recruitment process. The case discussions in class gave deep insights in industries I had very little knowledge about and the IE consulting club provided me with helpful details and resources for the consulting recruitment process. With other students of the MIM I was able to practice cases over and over again, so I felt very comfortable during the interviews with Roland Berger employees.
How was the recruiting process: stages, tests, interviews, etc?
The recruiting process of Roland Berger was the following:
- CV screening and if positive resulting in a first interview with an HR representative
- 3 rounds of interviews via telephone with Roland Berger consultants (2 interviews each round)
The interviews were structured in the following way: introduction, CV & cultural fit questions, case and finally the possibility to ask questions.
Would you want to share any tips, advice with current student interested in applying to Roland Berger?
I think the key to a successful application is preparation. Try to review the CV with numerous different people, who know the industry well is crucial to get an invitation in the first place. After that, practicing case interviews is of the utmost importance.
