Michael Wu, International MBA 2016 student, tells us about his experience with this firm.
How did you find out about this job opportunity?
The job was listed in the CMC job portal, and I also got an email from CMC/Lorena Martinez about this opportunity.
How did the CMC and your IE experience help you during the recruiting process?
CMC portal has many useful resources, like CoachingAssembly which helped me prepare the psychometric tests. It also has been a great help for me to land this job offer. CMC invited Amazon to our school for a company presentation last year, so we can learn more about the company and its MBA graduate programs. Before the application began, Lorena helped me refine my resume and application letter. Once I was selected for the interview, she also provided detailed information on each step with very useful suggestions.
How was the recruiting process: stages, tests, interviews, etc?
It was one of the most efficient recruiting process I ever experienced. The interview was completed within 2 days and I got my interview results on the same day for both rounds:
1. online psychometric tests
2. 1st round interview – 2 interviews: one with HR and another one with function managers. Each lasts around 30 minutes. most of the interview questions are behavior-based.
3. 2nd round interview – 2 interviews with senior managers / directors. Each lasts around 45 minutes. Half of the questions are still behavior-based, the other half are several case-based questions.
Would you want to share any tips, advice with current student interested in applying to this company?
Amazon is definitely a great company with many development opportunities, but it is also a very fast-paced one. Before you apply, making sure you have a deep of understanding of the company’s culture and your own motivation. Once you did your homework, the rest is simple: show your passion.
