Maurizio Borgatta graduated last December 2014 from the International MBA and is currently pursuing the GSK’s ESPRIT Commercial Program.
How did you find out about this job opportunity?
I got an email from the CMC to apply for the GSK ESPRIT Commercial program.
How did the CMC and your IE experience help you during the recruiting process?
CMC provided thorough and helpful advice on the wording and preparation of my CV. This advice helped to highlight the relevant achievements of my career, hence simplifying my message during the interviews. Looking back, I think this step was essential to get my foot on the door, specially due to the fact I was looking for career change.
Definitively, the IE experience played a great part on all this. I think that the academic part was critical to be able to perform well in the assessment center as you are evaluated in a broad spectrum of general management skills. However, the other big part is the knowledge from alumni, classmates and professors, which gave me some perspective about the industry, the company and the program.
How was the recruiting process: stages, tests, interviews, etc?
- Application on the company website.
- GSK online Assessment.
- Video or phone interview with a Senior Executive of the company.
- ESPRIT Assessment Center in UK.
Would you want to share any tips, advice with current student interested in applying to GSK?
First of all, I think you need to be true to yourself; apply if you feel related to the company’s values, they really drive the way of doing business.
Regarding the assessment center, come prepared for a very long and intense day. I would suggest to have top of mind the challenges, mission, strategy and values of the company. Make sure you deeply analyze the information given to you the night before. During the assessment, don’t be afraid to think differently, that might play in your favour.
