We wanted to give you a sneak peak of the topics we will discuss during the First Alumni Weekend to be held in Miami on November 7 & 8.
The event is aimed at Alumni that are willing to remain relevant in their professional lives, thus interacting with other professionals from top institutions and companies and getting ahead of the trends in the labor market.
Career- related conferences will verse over three different but complementary topics:
• The Hidden Secrets of Non-Verbal Communication, by Joe Navarro.
For 25 years, Joe Navarro worked as an FBI special agent in the area of counterintelligence and behavioral assessment. Today he is one of the world’s leading experts on nonverbal communications. Joe has appeared on all major U.S. and International media outlets and is the author of eleven books, including the international bestsellers: Louder Than Words, which The Wall Street Journal acclaimed as “One of the six best business books to read for your career” and the #1 selling body-language book in the world, What Every Body is Saying.
• Pivot Points: Five Decisions Every Successful Professional Should Make, by Julia Peters.
Leadership consultant and author Julia Tang Peters works with leaders at a pivot point in their business and/or in their career. Her work has been recognized in Forbes, Fast Company, Inc., Huffington Post, Government Executive, and other business publications. Senior executives in Fortune 100 global corporations as well as entrepreneurial companies engage Julia to challenge them and their leadership teams to break through insular thinking and make decisions that are pivotal to growth and success. With a career spanning business, academia and clinical psychology, Julia has held leadership roles at Leo Burnett Company, Aon Hewitt, Northwestern University, and The Family Institute. Also a Licensed Family Therapist, she has a Certificate in Family Therapy from The Family Institute. Julia lives in Chicago with her husband, and has four adult children.
